  1. How do I nominate someone for a prideofaustralia™medal?
    You can nominate someone by completing an official nomination form available online.
  2. How long is the nomination period?
    Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 prideofaustralia™ until August 8, 2008.
  3. Who can I nominate?
    You can nominate anyone who is an Australian citizen (or in the Fair Go category a permanent Australian resident), and is not considered a high-profile Australian - they might be a friend, workmate, neighbour, your child's teacher, the local police officer or fire fighter or simply someone who has made your community a better place to live - you can even nominate yourself.
  4. Do I need to know the person I'm nominating?
    No you don’t. You could have read about them in your newspaper, or heard about their story through friends and family.
  5. Are there any age restrictions?
    All categories are open to all ages except for the Young Aussie category which is restricted to Australian citizens 25 years or younger as at June 22, 2008.
  6. How many times can I nominate someone?
    You can nominate as many people as you like in more than one category. Nominations are judged on a merit basis and not the number of nominations received for a particular person.
  7. Can I nominate someone for more than one category?
    Yes, you can nominate someone in more than one category, however, nominees can only win one category.
  8. Can more than one person or a group of people be eligible for nomination?
    Yes, but only in the Bravery, Community Spirit, Mateship and Environment categories. A group can be no more than 10 people.
  9. How do I know my nomination has been received?
    You will be sent a thank you letter or email acknowledging receipt of your nomination.
  10. If my nominee doesn't win, can I nominate them again next year?
    Yes, unsuccessful nominees may be nominated again in subsequent years. If your nominee does win a category, they may also be considered in another category in subsequent years.
