Duracell is proud to support this year’s prideofaustralia™ medal program which will unveil Australia’s unsung heroes and help celebrate ordinary Australians who do extraordinary things.
Since 2000, Duracell has worked closely with the Australian Fire & Emergency Services, who do remarkable things each and every day. The Australian Fire Services, together with Duracell, run an annual campaign which raises fire safety awareness in the home and urges Australians to replace their smoke alarm battery. Duracell supports the F&ES with an annual donation of 33,650 batteries trusted to power fire fighting tools – from torches to breathing apparatus and portable communication.
The prideofaustralia™ medal program is a natural extension of Duracell’s long-standing association with the Fire & Emergency Service, which not only supports these everyday trusted heroes but also Australians from all walks of life who volunteer their time and energy to protect their communities.
The prideofaustralia™ medal nominees over the years have included men, women, children, friends, workmates, neighbours, teachers, police officers, charity workers who are not widely known or recognised by the general public but through their achievements these remarkable Australians inspire all of us, as individuals and collectively, to help make our nation a better place to live.
“Duracell is a brand trusted everywhere, to power devices in the home, in the workplace and even in life-threatening situations. We are proud to help recognise and thank those Australians who have shown themselves to be remarkable examples of humanity,” said Alicia Gorken, P&G External Relations Manager.
